My Coaching Approach

Coaching Style

I offer a non-directive, solution-focused coaching style designed to deliver maximum value through active listening, powerful questioning, trust-building, and regular two-way feedback and self-reflection. My approach empowers clients to take ownership of their development, with each session shaped around their goals and agenda.

To structure both individual sessions and broader coaching programmes, I draw on well-established tools such as the GROW model, ensuring that progress is purposeful, measurable, and aligned with the client’s priorities. While my coaching remains non-directive, I am committed to acting in the best interests of the client. I bring my experience into the relationship to offer both support and constructive challenge, helping to unlock insights and foster meaningful growth.

Building Effective Coaching Relationships

Successful coaching starts with strong relationships. I support this by:

  • Offering a free, no-obligation, 30-minute chemistry session to explore the potential fit between coach and client

  • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders, such as line managers or corporate sponsors where appropriate, to align expectations and outcomes

  • Using tools like Personality Type profiling and Values Elicitation exercises to deepen self-awareness and strengthen the coaching partnership.

Coaching Programmes

I offer private coaching programmes:

  • Virtually via Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams video call

  • In person in the wider Bristol area

  • As a bank of hours agreed in advance to be used within a six-month period

  • That are flexible to the needs of the client with session cadence and timings mutually agreed in the initial contracting session.

Code of Practice

I am an Affiliate member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and subscribe to the Global Code of Ethics. I carry out regular Continuous Professional Development (CPD), developing my skills through the EMCC Competence Framework and self-reflective practice that incorporates client feedback.
